Removing Derogatory Items On My Credit Report

Dear William,

The real question is whether it is a real derogatory or not.  If the derogatory item is real, there is no way to compel them to remove it.  If the derogatory item is not correct, to dispute or correct information in your credit file, contact the nationwide consumer credit reporting company that provided the credit report:

The credit reporting company will check with the source of the derogatory. Upon receiving a response from the source of the derogatory, the credit reporting company will update you.  If you continue to disagree, add a dispute statement to your credit report. Be as specific as possible in filing your dispute - the more you can explain the nature of your dispute, the better chance you have of overturning it.

You can expect resolution in 30 - 45 days.  If you want more specific direction, please provide more details via

Also, any further questions just ask.  Hope this was helpful.
